収納家具 デザイン事務所のようなシンプルな本棚
正方形のマス状の本棚をつくりました。 自分でつくることのメリットは、サイズを自由に合わせられるところと、同じような家具を購入するよりもコストを抑えられるところです。 この記事では、シナランバーや木口テープを活用した、本格的なDIY本棚の作り方を詳しく解説します。 今回白く塗っていますが、塗らないのも無垢材の良さがでて良いと思います。 色や木材は設置する部屋のイメージにあわせて変えてみてください。

まずはマス目のサイズを決めます。 僕の場合は、エセルテ(Esselte)のアーチファイルが入ることと、大きいデザイン書が入ることが条件です。 縦33cm、奥行きが30cmになります。 板の厚さは18mmにしました。 最適な厚さを選ぶのはすごく難しくて18mmが適しているのかはつくった後でもわからない感じです。 ペンキで塗る場合はラワンランバーで、木目を生かす場合はシナランバーやベニヤ合板などを購入してください。
First, I determined the size of each compartment. My requirements were that it could accommodate an Esselte arch file and my large books. So, I decided on a vertical size of 33cm and a depth of 30cm. The thickness of the board is 18 mm. I'm not entirely sure if 18mm is the optimal thickness even after construction. If you plan to paint the shelf, I recommend using lauan plywood.
木材のカットは、大量にある場合は、ホームセンターでカットしてもらうのがおすすめです。 カットさえしてもらえれば、賃貸でもなんとかなります。 大変なのは、棚板をどうやって止めるか、です。 ダボはぎが一番きれいになりますが、賃貸の場合は作業場所がなく難しいと思うので、そういう場合はL字金具です。 L字金具は束になって売っているので、売っている中でできるだけ小さくて薄いものを使いましょう。
If you have a lot of wood to cut, I recommend having a home improvement store cut it for you. The challenging part is figuring out how to attach the shelves. While dowel joints would give the cleanest look, it might be difficult to work on them in a rental property due to limited workspace. In such cases, L-brackets are a good alternative. When buying L-brackets, try to find the smallest.
ダボはぎとは、お互いに穴をあけて、穴に木ダボを刺して固定する方法です。 見た目が一番きれいで満足度が高いですが大変です。 僕はダボでやって地獄をみました。 この棚は、棚板を固定するためのダボ穴の数が多いため大変です。 僕はこの棚を3×3を2個、3×4を1個つくったのですが地獄をみました。 僕は大きいのを3つつくったので、数百の穴を開けることに...。 でも手間暇かけた分だけ品質が上がったので、満足はしました。
Dovetail joints are a joinery technique that involves cutting interlocking pieces into two boards and securing them with wooden pegs. They produce a clean and strong joint but require a high level of precision. I found this out firsthand when making this shelf. The large number of peg holes required for the shelves made the process quite labor-intensive. Despite the challenges, I'm pleased with the final result of the shelf.
今回は白く塗ってみたのですが、シナランバーで無垢のままつくるのも良いです。 しかもペンキで大量の板材を綺麗に塗っていくのはものすごく大変で、つくるよりも塗る方が時間がかかります。 シナの木口テープがあれば、合板の部分を隠して無垢材のように見せることができるので、木口テープもつかってみてください。 木口テープのつかいかたは、"すごくかんたん 木製のゴミ箱をつくってみよう"で紹介しています。
This time, I painted it white, but it would also be nice to use plain birch plywood. Painting a large amount of boards is incredibly time-consuming; it takes longer to paint than to build. If you use birch edge banding, you can hide the plywood part and make it look like solid wood.
